Dome
Dome - dome is a hemispherical structure evolved from the arch, usually forming a ceilingor roof. Romans were believed to be the first to introduce dome using concrete which was invented by them.
Dome gives a grandiose look to the whole structure. Domes in golden colour as represented above grasp the attention off the skyline.
The architect was trying to potray the dome of god using a dome.
Later dome had clerestory windows from which light entered creating a divine look to the interior.
Yes, the builder was effective in giving the strucutre a grandiose look and people gather below the dome to pray signifing the prescnece of god.
