Cornice
Cornice - an ornamental molding around the wall of a room just below the ceiling
Cornice belongs to the greek architectural tradition.
It severs decorative purpose to the structure giving it a good look at the edges rather than a dull end.
The architect intended to use it as a water drainer to the floor and also to give a beautiful look to the building.
It fits the architects purpose as intended and also gives a good look of the structure.
