Gable

Gable - A gable is the triangle formed by a sloping roof. A building may be front-gabled or side-gabled. Some houses are cross-gabled--They have gables both on the front and on the side. Porches and dormers may also be gabled.

Gables are found in greek, roman and gothic architectural styles.

It gives a triangular shape to the strctre with a sharp edge on top.

The architect was trying to show the traditional way of construction. Gables are also very helpful in draining the water off the buildings ceiling.

These purposes are satisfied by the strucutre.
